Boerum Hill, NY
While historic Brooklyn brownstones are a hallmark of Bespoke Only’s work, this project offered an opportunity to push beyond the expected - toward a more daring, deeply personal interior. The client’s background as a filmmaker informed an approach centered on atmosphere and narrative rather than a fixed stylistic agenda. She acted as both muse and collaborator, bringing a strong creative identity and a personal art collection shaped by travel and memory. The result is a richly layered interior - unexpected yet composed - where Georgian townhouse formality meets lighter Nordic references.
A sensitive reconfiguration opened up the entire third floor, transforming it into a generously scaled primary suite conceived as a quiet, indulgent retreat, In addition, throughout the home the material palette explores contrast - bold prints, color, and texture layered in a way that remains intimate, intriguing, and comfortably lived-in. Spanning multiple eras and geographies, the residence draws from global galleries, dealers, and fabricators while maintaining a cohesive language. Swedish folk-inspired furniture sits alongside Austrian Art Deco sconces and English case goods, unified through bespoke upholstery and a consistent material sensibility.
